The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi's international community is a unique blend of students, academicians, and corporate and civic leaders from all fields of endeavor. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi recognizes and rewards academic success. That recognition doesn’t end after initiation. From their time in school to their professional career, Society members’ hard work continues to pay off and be acknowledged.

Julian Dedeaux (Mississippi State University) named one of the finalists for the prestigious Fulbright U.S. Student Program awards—the U.S. government’s flagship international educational exchange program—for the 2025-2026 academic year. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program looks for candidates who demonstrate strong academic and professional achievement, leadership potential, cultural competence, and a clear fit between their proposed project and the Fulbright mission.
Hyunsoon Whang (Cameron University) received the Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award from the Oklahoma Music Teachers Association (OMTA). According to the OMTA, the award is given to an educator “who has made a significant difference in the lives of students, has contributed to the advancement of music in their community and is an outstanding example of a professional music educator.”
Edward Grzybowski (Eastern Kentucky University) has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ameerah Alsulami (Florida Institute of Technology) was announced Student Catalyst Award recipient at 2025 WISE Awards. The awards recognize four individuals who exemplify leadership, mentorship and the advancement of women within the Florida Tech community. Each year, a student, alumna, staff member and faculty member are chosen for this distinction.
Katilyn Gerstner (Texas State University) received a 2025-2026 Philanthropic Educational Organization Scholar Award. The P.E.O. Scholar Awards are one-time, competitive, merit-based awards intended to recognize and encourage academic excellence and achievement by women in doctoral-level programs. The $25,000 awards provide partial support for study and research.
Alexa Magstadt (The University of Kansas) named Astronaut Scholar for 2025-2026. Astronaut Scholarships are awarded to students in their junior and senior year of college studying science, technology, engineering or mathematics with the intent to pursue research or advance their field upon completion of their final degree. Astronaut Scholars are among the best and brightest minds in STEM who show initiative, creativity and excellence in their chosen field.
Abigail McCulloh (University of Georgia) named the SEC H. Boyd McWhorter Women’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Each SEC school nominates one male and one female scholar-athlete for the McWhorter Award, based on standout academic performance, athletic achievement and campus and community leadership.
