The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi stands by its commitment to the inclusivity and diversity reflected in our membership. We therefore find the bigotry, hatred and violence displayed at the recent Unite the Right protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, disturbing, disheartening and contrary to our values. Education remains the key to informed citizenship.

Peter Cvjetanovic, a participant in the Unite the Right rally, was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi at the University of Nevada, Reno in Spring 2017 based on his academic achievement. In light of the stark contrast between the messages of the Unite the Right rally and our Society’s values, the UNR chapter has revoked his membership, a decision endorsed by the Society’s Board of Directors.
