James Stock

Initiated at University of South Florida in 2002

James Stock, currently holding the Monica Wooden Endowed Professorship in Supply Chain Management at the Muma College of Business, University of South Florida, is the 2024-2026 Phi Kappa Phi Scholar. This prestigious recognition acknowledges his outstanding expertise and significant contributions to the field of logistics and supply chain management.

Stock received his doctorate degree from The Ohio State University and his master’s degree and bachelor’s degrees from The University of Miami.

Stock's accolades include election as a Fellow in the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) in 2017; the 2019 Global Achievement Award for Outstanding Global Visionary presented by USF World at the University of South Florida, as well as his induction into the Distinguished Fellows Program for Societal Honorees in the Supply Chain by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) Academic Research; and receipt of CSCMP’s highest honor—Distinguished Service Award (2011).

His impact is further demonstrated through his extensive literary contributions, which encompass the authorship or co-authorship of seven books and over 80 refereed research monographs and articles in the realm of logistics and supply chain.

“While I have received many awards over my career, the Phi Kappa Phi Scholar Award is one of the most significant for me,” said Stock. “The Society has a superb national and international reputation that makes being a member a special recognition.”

First presented in 1974, the Phi Kappa Phi Scholar Award recognizes excellence in teaching, research and public service and is awarded once each biennium.
