2022 Biennial Convention

Convention 2022 logoThe 47th Phi Kappa Phi Convention took place in sunny Orlando, Florida, Aug. 4-6 with 116 voting delegates in attendance. We celebrated 125 years of excellence, board members for the 2022-2024 biennium were elected, governance was conducted and the state of higher education was discussed. Among the highlights of the convention was a speech from the recipient of the Society's $100,000 Excellence in Innovation Award. To view a gallery of photos from the event, click here

Convention Voting

Elections for the 2022-2024 board of directors and divisional vice presidents were conducted On Saturday, Aug. 6. Chapter delegates were asked to review the 2022-2024 slate of nominees in advance. The final results are available here

Expansion of Award Programs

The Society announced an expansion of its award and grant programs which will now give $1.3 million annually to outstanding members. Two new programs, the Pioneer Award and Mary Todd Sabbatical Award have been added to the Society's robust award portfolio. In addition, an increase in funding for the Dissertation Fellowships and Love of Learning Awards will begin in 2023. To learn more about the new awards and expansion, click here.

2022 Excellence in Innovation

Congratulations to Longwood University for being chosen as the recipient of the 2022 Excellence in Innovation Award for its achievement in finding a powerful solution to explore unresolved civic issues through the Brock Experiences for Transformational Learning program. Longwood Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Larissa M. Smith and Director of Brock Experiences, Josh Blakely accepted the award on behalf of the school.
