As we prepare the spring 2026 edition of the Phi Kappa Phi Forum, we're asking members to contribute their ideas to the theme. We enjoy reading your responses and will be choosing a sample to share in the magazine.
Forum’s spring 2026 issue will explore how our perspectives can shift over time, and we want to hear from you about something you’ve changed your mind about over the years. What’s an area of your life where your outlook has evolved?
Danny Heitman, Forum editor, recalls how his outlook on nature has changed over the years. Once an inside kid who found the outdoors fairly boring, he became more interested in nature after moving as a newlywed to a tree-shaded neighborhood. Paying attention to birds soon led him to notice everything around them, and now he starts each day on the patio, keenly observing what he sees. Phi Kappa Phi is a nonpartisan organization, so we’re not interested in discussing political topics here, but maybe there are other areas of your life where you’ve had a change of mind. Can you think of a similar area of your life where you’ve changed your mind? Share your thoughts, and let’s get a discussion going.
Share your response to our question by replying to this discussion in our online member community Link. Responses of no more than three or four sentences are recommended, and we look forward to reading your contributions. We'll publish some of your answers in the “Up for Discussion” feature of our spring magazine.
