Forum 15: Leadership

Sep 4, 2024

With each edition of the Society's Forum magazine, "Forum 15" highlights elements of popular culture related to the theme. Our goal is to affirm that the ideas we discuss in Forum have a vivid presence in our daily lives – in the books we read, the shows we watch, the songs we sing, the movies we see, and the buildings we admire.

As we prepare for the winter edition focusing on the theme of leadership, we'd love your suggestions for items to include in "Forum 15." Do you know of a movie, book, painting, or piece of music that celebrates leadership? Let us know, and we’ll include some of your responses in Forum’s winter issue. For Danny Heitman, editor of the Forum magazine, an obvious choice is “Lincoln,” the 2012 Steven Spielberg movie starring Daniel Day Lewis as the 16th U.S. president. The film shows leadership as compromise, with Abraham Lincoln making a few concessions here and there to abolish slavery.

We’d love to get your thoughts on great pieces of popular culture that celebrate leadership. Share your ideas in our members-only online community. We'll include as many ideas as we can in the  winter Forum.
