The latest edition of the Phi Kappa Phi Forum will be arriving in your mailbox soon. The winter edition's theme of "Community" completes our 2021 series, which included solitude, friendship and family. The featured stories, regular columnists, and even our custom crossword puzzles will all dive deeper into the idea of community.

The featured articles in the winter edition discuss:

Passing the Gavel – Society Past President Missy Hopper reflects on her time leading Phi Kappa Phi and its promise for the future.

Our Towns – A husband and wife traveled America, finding plenty of agreement, even in divisive times, about how progress works.

Tribal Lessons – In his years in the Amazon, ethnobotanist Mark Plotkin has learned important things about how strong communities endure.

Washington Stories – Growing up in a little-celebrated neighborhood of the nation’s capital, writer Clifford Thompson developed views on community that still shape his life and work.

It Takes All Kinds – For writer Martha White, a childhood encounter in community took the form of baseball games and hide and seek.

As always, we welcome letters to the editor, member news, poetry submissions and story ideas for upcoming themes. Visit our Forum page to learn more.
