Hillsdale College to Install Phi Kappa Phi Chapter

Mar 1, 2016

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi will establish its newest chapter at Hillsdale College today, March 1, during a ceremonial installation. Hillsdale will become the 334th chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, which was founded in 1897 at the University of Maine.

The college was approved to establish a chapter by the Society’s board of directors.

Officers elected by the chartering group to serve the newly installed chapter include President Korey Maas, President-elect Paul Hosmer, Secretary Lorraine Murphy and Treasurer David C. Murphy.

Each year, approximately 30,000 students, faculty, professional staff and alumni are initiated into the Society, which has chapters on more than 300 campuses in the United States and the Philippines. Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is by invitation only to the top 7.5 percent of juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students, along with faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction.
