How did you become involved as a Phi Kappa Phi volunteer?

I was asked to consider running for office during the 2012 Convention in St. Louis. Because I was new to Phi Kappa Phi I didn't expect to be elected, but I am very glad I decided to run and I have enjoyed the experience from day one.

What has Phi Kappa Phi done that has made you proud?
As a former student at an Historically Black College (HBCU) and an administrator at an HBCU, I am proud and excited to see the HBCU's that are applying for a Phi Kappa Phi Chapter on their campuses; with the most recent being Clark Atlanta University.

What does Phi Kappa Phi mean to you?
Phi Kappa Phi offers its members an opportunity to really explore what it means to be a scholar and to enjoy learning.

What do you enjoy most about being a board/committee member?
As a board member I enjoy being able to create opportunities for increased knowledge and educational opportunities for students.  I think the opportunities available through membership in Phi Kappa Phi are invaluable and opens up a new world of inquiry to its members.

What advice would you give to a new board member?
Enjoy the opportunity and the awesome responsibility to support chapters in being the best they can be, but most of all enjoy the camaraderie of working with colleagues dedicated to the mission of Phi Kappa Phi.

What are your hobbies?
I enjoy reading (I am a member of two book clubs), traveling, going to see live theater productions and volunteering in my community.

Where are you from?
New Orleans, Louisiana
