Wear Your Pin to Win! Contest Winner Selected

Jan 21, 2014

Congratulations to Lubrina Burton (right), a member of the Eastern Kentucky University chapter, for being randomly selected as the second winner in the Phi Kappa Phi Wear Your Pin to Win photo contest! As the winner, Burton will receive a $100 gift card.

"I am pictured here with my second grade teacher, Thelma Smith, where I grew up in Knox County, Kentucky. Ms. Smith taught me to work hard and stay focused on my goals and to never consider growing up in rural Appalachia to be a disadvantage," said Burton. "I joined the U.S. Army at 17 and after a medical discharge I enrolled in college. I wear my Phi Kappa Phi pin alongside my veteran pin to remind of the long journey I have made with the help of great mentors like Ms. Smith to get to where I am today."

Didn't win this time? Don't worry! The Wear Your Pin to Win contest is still running and winners will be selected randomly at the end of March and June.

To enter, post a photo of yourself wearing your Society pin in public to the Phi Kappa Phi Facebook pageTwitter or Instagram(@PhiKappaPhi). Be sure to include why you wear your Society pin along with #WearYourPinToWin! Must be an active Society member to enter.
