Call for Candidate Nominations and Expressions of Interest

Help Shape the Future of Phi Kappa Phi

Phi Kappa Phi invites dedicated and accomplished members to serve in national leadership roles that will help guide the Society into its next chapter.

As the Society continues to evolve, we are implementing thoughtful governance enhancements to strengthen board capacity, expand member engagement, and ensure long-term success. These changes reflect extensive member feedback and a commitment to excellence, transparency, and stewardship.

Due to the transition to a new governance model with staggered board terms, most positions are not open this year. However, members are encouraged to get involved through the opportunities outlined below, including submitting expressions of interest for future service. Chapters are encouraged to recommend qualified members for future Board service.Shape

Plan Ahead: Call for Expressions of Interest (Future Board Leadership Opportunities – Beginning Sep. 2027)

Due to 2026 being a transition election year as the staggered board terms are implemented, most Board leadership positions will reopen in future election cycles. To help build a strong leadership pipeline, Phi Kappa Phi encourages members interested in future service to submit an Expression of Interest now.

Future Board Leadership Roles Include:

  • President-Elect
  • Six Directors
  • Two Student Representatives

Every two years a President-Elect is elected. Starting in 2027, approximately one-third of Directors are elected each year. Student Representatives are elected annually.

Why Serve?

Board service offers the opportunity to:

  • Shape the long-term strategic direction of Phi Kappa Phi
  • Strengthen governance aligned with nonprofit best practices
  • Support chapters and enhance member engagement nationwide
  • Contribute professional expertise to a mission-driven organization

Who Is Eligible?

Expressions of Interest are welcome from:

  • Active (dues current) Phi Kappa Phi members
  • Individuals with leadership experience in academic, professional, or nonprofit settings
  • Members with expertise or interest in governance, finance, fundraising, investment management, marketing, higher education, or organizational leadership
  • Those committed to advancing the Society’s mission and strategic priorities

How the Process Works

  • Expressions of Interest for Board service are accepted on an ongoing basis and reviewed periodically as part of a continuous recruitment and evaluation process.

  • Candidates may later be invited to submit a formal nomination in the appropriate election year
