Circle of Excellence -Criteria

Section 1

Chapters will meet all of the following criteria annually.

1. Hold at least one virtual or in-person initiation ceremony between July 1 and June 30. Note that participating only in the national virtual ceremony will not satisfy this requirement.
2. Invite individuals from each category relevant to your academic institution: undergraduate juniors, undergraduate seniors, graduate or professional students, and faculty/staff.
3. Submit required annual reports on time, including Chapter Annual Report, Finance Report, and 990-N.
4. Submit chapter-endorsed Fellowship nominee.

Section 2

Chapters will meet at least 6 of the following criteria annually.

1. Have an up-to-date chapter website.
2. Have an active chapter social media presence.
3. Campus President, Provost, and/or Dean(s) attend the chapter initiation ceremony.
4. Have a chapter yield rate above the national average in the previous FY.
5. Plan and complete a fall service project.
6. Hold a Phi Kappa Phi Week activity.
7. Have chapter members apply for awards and grants beyond the Fellowship.
8. Nominate a chapter member for national office during election years.
9. Briefly describe chapter financial support or fundraising initiatives.
10. Provide a letter of support for the chapter from your institution’s President or Provost.
11. Have at least one Student Vice President as a chapter officer.
