Forum 15: Change Of Address

Feb 5, 2026

With each edition of the Society’s Forum magazine, “Forum 15” highlights elements of popular culture related to the theme. Our goal is to affirm that the ideas we discuss in Forum have a vivid presence in our daily lives in the books we read, the shows we watch, the songs we sing, the movies we see and the buildings we admire.

Forum’s Summer 2026 issue will explore the experience of a change of address, and the content will include “Forum 15,” our regular feature that lists neat works of culture related to our theme.

Do you know of a memorable book, movie, piece of music, or work of art that celebrates a change of address?  For Forum Editor Danny Heitman, a classic change-of-address movie is “Moscow on the Hudson,” a 1984 film starring Robin Williams as a Soviet circus musician who defects to the United States. It’s a fish-out-of-water story about what can happen when we find ourselves immersed in a different environment. We’d love to get your suggestions for an upcoming feature in Forum’s summer 2026 issue. We can’t wait to hear your ideas.

Share your ideas in our members-only online community. We’ll include as many ideas as we can in the summer Forum.
