Phi Kappa Phi’s Love of Learning Awards are designed to help fund post-baccalaureate professional development for active Phi Kappa Phi members to include graduate or professional studies, doctoral dissertations, continuing education, career development, travel related to teaching/research/learning, etc.
For members like Anastasia Chouvalova, a graduate student at Texas Tech University, the funds can help open new horizons in their academic journey. As a 2024 Love of Learning Award recipient, Chouvalova will use the award funds to attend a disciplinary conference called Society for the Advancement of Biology Education Research West.
“I am very excited to receive the Love of Learning Award, which will allow me to travel to a conference to present my ongoing dissertation research, make new connections, learn about exciting research in the field, and meet with my research mentors,” Chouvalova said. “Receiving this award inspires me to continue to work hard as a discipline-based education researcher and to find ways to enhance undergraduate STEM students' academic and psychosocial outcomes so they can persist in STEM and achieve their goals.”
Established in 2007, the Love of Learning program gives 155 awards at $1,000 each annually.
The deadline to apply for a Love of Learning Award is Monday, June 30. For more information, visit www. Phikappaphi.org/loveoflearning or contact Kelli Partin at kpartin@phikappaphi.org.
