Born and raised in Jamaica's vibrant Manchester parish, Andre Campbell has a bachelor’s degree in computer information science from Northern Caribbean University and a master’s in learning design and technology from Purdue West Lafayette.

With over a decade of experience in the hospitality industry, Andre currently serves as the E-Learning and Technology Manager at Sandals Resorts International, where he seamlessly integrates technology into training courses at the Sandals Corporate University. Andre's expertise in learning management systems and content development caters to over 17,000 team members, and he spearheads the integration of VR, AR, and AI into training programs, orchestrating immersive learning experiences. Andre’s dedication to effective learning experiences and technology continues to drive his career, shaping the future of corporate learning.

His commitment extends to volunteer work through the Sandals Foundation, enriching local communities through initiatives like beach clean-ups and Christmas outreach programs.

What does Phi Kappa Phi mean to you?

It means community and sharing. I have briefly browsed through the discussion board, and it is evident that Phi Kappa Phi is a melting pot of cultures and knowledge. 

What is your favorite thing to cook?

I enjoy cooking a lot! I enjoy making Jerk Chicken or Pork, a local favorite of many.

How did your passion for creating meaningful learning experiences originate?

I always considered myself an IT guy and never saw myself in education. While in college, I attended the graduation ceremony at my former high school and was approached by an IT teacher about a job. She knew I had a knack for technology and encouraged me to apply for an open IT teaching position while completing my remaining college courses. Long story short, I spent five years teaching high school IT and fell in love with the profession. Later, I was lured away by the luxuries of Sandals Resorts and started to delve deeper into creating a better experience for corporate learners.

What motivates you to work hard?

I am motivated to work hard to ensure I can spoil my family. Additionally, one primary motivator for me is to positively impact the lives of the individuals I support by allowing them to self-actualize and become their best versions.

Do you have any hobbies?

I am an online gamer, and I love to collect and play group board and card games.

How do you unwind and reduce stress?

I love hikes with scenic views or a good TV series to binge.

What do you enjoy most about living in Jamaica?

The people and the abundance of beauty wherever you go. Jamaica got extra attention during the creation of the world!

If you could choose a superpower, what would you pick?

It would be a coin toss between flight and speed. I have a horrible fear of falling from heights, so if I could fly, I believe I would overcome it. I am always on the go, so speeding would help me reduce travel time to various locations.

What is your favorite sports team?

Liverpool Football Club is my favorite soccer team. They are based in the UK, so I have to watch them on TV, but I am in the stands spiritually every game. One of my bucket list items is to watch a finals game in person!

Do you have a hidden talent?

I am a gifted troublemaker!
