Committee Volunteers

Chapter Officers Collab

Phi Kappa Phi depends upon the work of more than 100 volunteers to serve on as many as 12 national committees each biennium. Serving as a volunteer is a wonderful opportunity to get involved on the national level and network with colleagues from around the country.

Eligibility Requirements

Members who maintain active membership status are eligible to serve as a committee volunteer.

Term and Service

The Society operates on a biennial calendar and the committee term of service is two years. No member may serve more than two consecutive terms on the same committee.

Committee work typically involves conference calls and may require travel to the national office in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Expenses are paid according to Society policies. Award selection committees work electronically in the award portal on the ΦΚΦ website.

Structure and Current Committees

Most committees are comprised of five individuals, including the chair, who represent the diversity of Society membership. The Society President defines the functions of each committee and appoints the chairperson.

To meet the needs of the Society, the Bylaws make the provision for the creation of additional committees beyond those outlined in the Society Bylaws, and operational committees are determined on a biennial basis per the Policies and Procedures Manual.
