Excellence in Innovation - Resources

All regionally accredited baccalaureate or higher degree-granting four-year colleges or universities in the United States (or located outside the U.S. that have an active chapter of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi) are eligible to apply.

* If chosen as the Excellence in Innovation Award recipient, any institution without a Phi Kappa Phi chapter agrees to petition a chapter of Phi Kappa Phi on its campus. All fees associated with an installation will be waived.

This is an achievement award, which assumes the project submitted has been completed and there is at least initial assessment data demonstrating the impact of the innovation.

We are looking for focus on a single program/project. That’s not to say the project cannot be multi-faceted, but the submission should focus on a single program/project, rather than results from an institution's strategic plan.

Both the screening committee and the portfolio jury consist of senior university administrators (current and past).

The application asks you to tell us what you would be submitting. Because we anticipate there to be great variety in the applications, the committees have decided against itemizing that documentation.

This is an achievement award and NOT a grant. We expect only that the project has been completed and at least initial assessment data be included in the application.

If chosen as the Excellence in Innovation award recipient, the institution’s president or other representative must be present to accept the award and address the Society’s biennial convention in New Orleans, Louisiana, in August 2024.
