Sharhonda Rush works with BlackLine which allows her to combine her passion for technology and accounting experience. She works with other finance and accounting professionals to demonstrate how technology can save time and optimize accounting processes. She was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi as a graduate student by the Jacksonville University chapter in 2016. She earned both a master’s in public policy and an MBA from JU after receiving a BSA in accounting from Christopher Newport University. Rush is a certified public accountant and leads a team of professionals responsible for accounting operations. She facilitates trainings and volunteers with colleagues in the Big Brothers Big Sisters and JTA Cares programs, serving homeless individuals and families transitioning from homelessness. Outside her work, Rush serves on committees of her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Incorporated and as a board member on the North Florida UNCF leadership council. A member of the National Association of Black Accountants, she also provides mentoring to college students majoring in accounting.
Rush currently serves on the 2020-2022 Phi Kappa Phi Board of Directors and is chair of the Finance and Budget Committee.

Maire Simington is Faculty in Residence at the School of Public Health, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She was initiated into Phi Kappa Phi at Arizona State in 2000 where she received both her MA and Ph. D in English/Rhetoric. Her undergraduate degree is in English from Hofstra University and she holds an MBA from University of Phoenix. She is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Prior to joining University of Nevada, Simington worked as a senior strategist for the chief medical officer at Banner Health, a hospital system with 28 hospitals in six states. She has also held leadership positions working in marketing, corporate communications, and philanthropy at Mayo Clinic in Arizona.
Simington’s volunteer efforts have involved work in the arts including chairing Arizona Humanities, an affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities, as a board member of Ballet Arizona, Southwest Folk Alliance, and the civic organization, Scottsdale Leadership.
Simington served on Phi Kappa Phi’s national board of directors from 2014-2018.
