Why do you want to serve Phi Kappa Phi at the national level?
I have been steadily building leadership skills as I have grown and developed as a young adult and felt that this position opening offered an excellent opportunity for growth in my skills. Upon attendance at the 2019 student leadership summit, I met a wide variety of wonderful young leaders, and having the opportunity to work with and develop ideas with students on the national leadership level greatly sparked my interest. This summit truly strengthened my wish to become more active in Phi Kappa Phi in my chapter at SUNY Oswego, and I found the ability to volunteer on a national level to be highly intriguing. I thank the president of my chapter for interviewing me and for choosing me to function as a student vice president in the first place, for allowing me to attend the leadership summit last summer, and finally for forwarding me the email providing information regarding national officer openings for the upcoming two years and for submitting my name for consideration. I am immensely excited to meet fellow national officers as we continue to complete training and election tasks, as well as serve on the national level.

Aly Nguyen
Undergraduate
University of South Alabama

Alyson Nguyen is a senior biomedical sciences major at the University of South Alabama, where she was initiated in 2019. She serves her chapter at a student vice president and attended the 2019 student leadership summit. Nguyen anticipates a spring 2022 graduation, after which will come either medical school or a gap year to focus on research. At South Alabama, she has served as president of the student ambassadors and coordinator for the Alpha Epsilon Delta Pre-Health Honor Society.

Why do you want to serve Phi Kappa Phi at the national level?
I would be honored to serve my peers and mentors of the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi at the national level. In the past two years alone, Phi Kappa Phi has provided me with opportunities to connect with fellow research students, place my passion for service at the forefront, and develop lifelong friendships. Serving on the national level would give me the chance to give back to the society that has already given me so much.
