Join us in Minneapolis for the 45th Phi Kappa Phi Biennial Convention! Board members will be elected by delegates to the 2018 Convention, where the Society will celebrate excellence, conduct governance, and discuss higher education. Among the highlights of the convention will be a speech from the recipient of the Society’s $100,000 Excellence in Innovation Award.

Julie-2-croppedThe event also will feature a keynote address by author Julie Schumacher. Her bestselling novel, Dear Committee Members, won the Thurber Prize for American Humor in 2015, making her the first female to receive the award. Her latest book, Doodling for Academics, is a coloring and activity book designed to be an entertaining distraction for those in higher education.

Build in some extra time for a paddle boat cruise on the Mississippi River, a scenic walk through Loring Park or visit Minneapolis attractions including the Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minnehaha Park, Minneapolis Sculpture Garden and more!

(Please note: The delegate orientation scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018, is mandatory for all delegates. Please plan your travel time accordingly.)

Registration will open in early spring 2018. Phi Kappa Phi chapters should make plans now to designate a delegate to the convention. The appropriate delegate is one who will be a chapter leader during the 2018-2019 academic year and can help implement the ideas learned at convention.

Nominations for the board of The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi will be accepted through February 15, 2018. Society members can serve a two-year term in one of 14 positions: president-elect, vice president for chapter development, five directors, two student representatives and five divisional vice presidents.
