In an effort to encourage students to take a more active role in their school library, Phi Kappa Phi members at Lock Haven University brought fourth grade students from Jackson Elementary School in Williamsport, Pennsylvania to the book store as part of the Student Library Ownership program. While at the store, students selected and purchased books then donated them to their school library.Lock Haven University

I am overflowed with joy when people like you put in so much effort just for a field trip! (That shows you really care!) And one day, when I [am] older I hope I can be just as kind.
         Yours truly,
          Lydia

Lock Haven UniversityI loved what you did for the whole school...I am proud of myself because if my kids grow up and go to this school they can bring that book home. I will say "Professor Richards' grant got that for me thank you."
         Sincerely,
         Kerstein

Lock Haven UniversityI liked that trip because we got to pick out a book and donate the book to our school library.

If you don't know how to read you can't get a job. I think it's really cool because everybody in the fourth grade gets to do it and there'll be a book from each of us in there.

It's from me and it'll be in the library.

Lock Haven UniversityToday's been really fun because we got to pick out books. I think it's good because when you have kids, if the school's still up they'll get this book and you can tell your kids you put these books in the library.
