Dr. John O. Aje is associate dean of academic affairs at the University of Maryland University College. He has more than 20 years of experience in educational administration including graduate-level teaching experience at UMUC, George Washington University and Howard University. Aje also has professional experience as a research engineer, production chemist and laboratory manager.

Inducted into Phi Kappa Phi in 2000 at the University of Maryland, Aje serves as regional vice president on the Society’s Chapter Relations Committee working with officers and students to strengthen chapters in the Northeast region. He has served in multiple leadership roles for the University of Maryland chapter since 2004 as vice president and president. Currently, he serves as president of the UMUC chapter.

“I would like to work with the Society, through the individual chapters in my region, to develop and implement a strategy for improving the level of continuous participation of chapter members after induction,” said Aje.

Aje holds a bachelor’s from Clemson University, a master’s from North Carolina State University, and both a master’s and D.Sc. in engineering management from George Washington University.
