Fellowship, Study Abroad, and Literacy Recipients Announced

The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi recently granted nearly $500,000 to 164 recipients through its flagship Fellowship program and grants for study abroad and literacy projects.

Sixty students received Fellowships valued at $5,000 each, and forty students received Awards of Excellence valued at $2,000 each to support first-year graduate, or professional school, study at institutions of their choice. All 100 award recipients are Phi Kappa Phi members who recently have graduated or are nearing the completion of their undergraduate degree programs.

Fifty undergraduates received Study Abroad Grants of $1,000 each. Study Abroad Grants are designed to recognize and assist undergraduates as they seek knowledge and experience in their academic fields by studying abroad. Please see the Study Abroad page for a complete list of winners.

Fourteen deserving Phi Kappa Phi members were named 2009 Literacy Grant recipients, collectively awarded $30,000. Individual projects may be awarded up to $2,500. The program is designed to mobilize members and resources of Phi Kappa Phi and the higher education community to champion literacy initiatives.
