Thursday, March 26, 2009

The Phi Kappa Phi Forum magazine recently won a Grand Award for Writing,
the highest award category, from APEX for the "Is the Sky Falling" issue
(Winter/Spring 2006).

"A superbly written, objective review makes an intensely polarizing topic both understandable and interesting," noted one of the APEX judges.

Additionally, the Society''s electronic magazine, the Honor Cord, received an Award of Excellence in the category of "Magazines & Journals - Web & Electronic."

APEX 2007 – the 19th Annual Awards for Publication Excellence – is an international competition that recognizes outstanding publications from newsletters and magazines to annual reports, brochures, and Web sites.

APEX awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the success of the entry – in the opinion of the judges – in achieving overall communications effectiveness and excellence.

The "Is the Sky Falling?" issue also received the Magnum Opus Bronze Award
for Best Cover.

The Magnum Opus acknowledges and rewards every aspect of an internal or external publication''s marketing and messaging success in the areas of writing, design, strategy, and management.
