The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi

You are invited to create a smart, creative and compelling 60 second video about the benefits and opportunities gained from membership in The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi. Winning videos will be used to educate the public about Phi Kappa Phi and inspire prospective students to join!

The contest is open to all Phi Kappa Phi members. Submissions will be accepted through December 15.

Videos will be judged on overall impact, creativity, memorable content and delivery, and clear message about the significance of Phi Kappa Phi membership.

The first place winner will receive an iPad; second place will receive a $100 Amazon gift card; and third place will receive a $50 iTunes gift card.

Please follow this 3-step process to participate:

STEP 1: CREATE
Create a compelling 60 second or less video about the benefits and opportunities gained from membership in Phi Kappa Phi. Participants are encouraged to brush up on their Phi Kappa Phi facts at www.PhiKappaPhi.org.

STEP 2: SUBMIT
By December 15, 2011, post your video to YouTube, formatted according to the contest guidelines, and tagged with “PKPcontest.”

STEP 3: VOTE
A panel of judges will view all submissions and narrow to 3 finalists. Phi Kappa Phi members and friends will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite video January 4-18, 2012.

Guidelines

Format and Length:
Entries may be in any form of moving image, including but not limited to, video, animation, text and audio in .WMV, .AVI, .MOV or .MPG format and be less than 100 MB in size. Videos must be 60 seconds or less in duration. Submissions will be accepted through electronic upload to YouTube, tagged with “PKPcontest.”

Submissions and Deadline
First, you will need to sign up for a YouTube account. Once your account has been made, and you’ve finished editing your video, make sure it is smaller than 100 MB and in an acceptable format. Be certain to tag your video with PKPcontest to be considered for this contest.

If you need help uploading your video to YouTube, contact Jeremy Garland, Phi Kappa Phi communications specialist, at jgarland@phikappaphi.org.

After you have finished your video and uploaded it to YouTube, email your full name and the URL of your video to jgarland@phikappaphi.org to ensure we’re able to contact you after the contest.

Respect for Existing Copyright
You must be the original author of everything in your video or have permission to use copyright protected material. Be creative, but think carefully about what you put into the video. If you are considering using existing music, video clips, photos, etc., it is very likely that someone else owns a copyright to that material. In this case, be sure to obtain the copyright owner’s written permission before using the material in your video.

Contest Rules
Videos that contain racist, sexist, lewd, or vulgar material will be disqualified. In short, don’t post anything you wouldn’t be comfortable showing your mother. Additionally, you will be subject to YouTube’s rules of conduct.
