Literacy Grants—FAQ

Who is eligible to apply?
Literacy Grants are available to Phi Kappa Phi chapters and members. The project director applying for the grant must be an active (dues current) Phi Kappa Phi member.

How do I know if I am an active member?
Call the Society Headquarters at 800.804.9880, ext. 35.

Can I still apply if I already received a grant in previous years?
Proposals may be for new projects or for support of existing projects. There is no limit to the number of times a project may be funded.

When will I know if our grant has been selected?
You will be notified by the end of April 2008.

When will I receive the grant?
Once we have received your letter of acceptance, your award will be sent to you after July 1, 2008.

What is the deadline?
The application should arrive at the Society Headquarters on or before February 4, 2008.  Any proposals received after this date will not be considered.

Is there a deadline to complete the project?
Yes. Projects should be completed by June 1, 2009. A report, receipts, and any leftover funds should be submitted to the Society Headquarters by July 1, 2009.
