2005 Study Abroad Recipient
Katherine Spencer spent the summer of 2005 studying psychology at the University of Westminster in London, England. Katherine's goals for her study abroad program were to gain an understanding of international relations and an appreciation for cultures and places different from her own.
Of her five-week study abroad program, Katherine said, "Learning was an open experience and occurred just as often outside of the classroom as inside. In addition to the culture, flexible learning environment, and trips to places steeped in years of history, the people I met have become lifelong friends."
Following graduation in May 2006, Katherine intends to pursue a graduate degree in social work. For the current semester, she enrolled in two courses, Child in Historical Context and Cultural Diversity, which will prepare her for further studies in social work.
