Literacy Grants — FAQ

Who is eligible to apply?
Literacy Grants are available to Phi Kappa Phi chapters and members. The project director applying for the grant must be an active (dues current) Phi Kappa Phi member.

How do I know if I am an active member?
Call the Society Headquarters at 800.804.9880, ext. 235.

Can I still apply if I already received a grant in previous years?
Yes. Projects can be funded for two consecutive years. Funding is not available for a third year, but project managers are encouraged to apply again in year four.

When will I know if our grant has been selected?
You will be notified in June of the year in which you are applying.

When will I receive the grant?
Once we have received your letter of acceptance, your award will be sent to you by August of the year in which you are applying.

What is the deadline?
The application should be submitted online on or before April 1, 2014 @ 11:59 p.m. CT.

Is there a deadline to complete the project?
Yes. Projects should be completed by June 1, 2015. A report, receipts, and any leftover funds should be submitted to the Society Headquarters by July 1, 2015.
