Gilbert Fowler, Ph.D.
Vice President, South Central Region
Dr. Gil Fowler is a professor of journalism at Arkansas State University. He earned his Ph.D. at Southern Illinois University. Dr. Fowler's academic and service record includes more than 100 scholarly and professional presentations, forty-seven publications, seventeen grants, and more than twenty consulting assignments in news and public relations nationally and internationally. He has also assisted ASU with his administrative skills as acting Dean of the Graduate School and of the College of Communications. He also is a Founding Board Member of the University Teaching and Learning Center (U.T.L.C.) at ASU, a Faculty Senate initiative to introduce to the ASU campus to diverse instructional technologies and strategies. Dr. Fowler is serving his second consecutive term as a Phi Kappa Phi regional vice president. As Vice President of the South Central Region, Dr. Fowler will serve as a member of the Chapter Relations and Marketing and Member Benefits Committees and will work with chapter officers to help strengthen chapters in the south central region.
