H. Ray Sylvester

Dr. H. Ray Sylvester is the associate dean and a professor of marketing at the University of the Pacific's Eberhardt School of Business. He teaches marketing research and consumer behavior courses, and his research interests focus on applications of marketing in the public sector and in the health care field.

At Phi Kappa Phi's 2012 Convention, Sylvester was elected to the post of Society president-elect. He will serve as president-elect for two years and succeed to the presidency of the national honor society in 2014. As president-elect, Sylvester will chair the budget, budget advisory and review, programs and awards review, and convention planning committees.

Inducted into Phi Kappa Phi in 2000, he has been an active member of the Society’s board since 2007 serving as vice president of the western region and vice president for marketing and member benefits during the 2010-2012 biennium.

Sylvester holds a bachelor’s in economics from Gettysburg College and both his MBA and Ph.D. in marketing from the University of Michigan.
