C. Roy Blackwood is a professor of visual art at Southeastern Louisiana University, where he is also director of the Cultural Resource Management program and university liaison to the Lake Pontchartrain Basin Maritime Museum. An accomplished sculptor, Mr. Blackwood was the first recipient of Southeastern's President's Award for Excellence in Artistic Activity and was one of the co-founders of Fanfare, Southeastern's fall arts festival. He is a fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufacturers and Commerce, former president of the National Council of Art Administrators, and served as executive vice president of the Hammond Cultural Foundation. He also is actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America. His service to Phi Kappa Phi spans more than twenty years. At the local level, he served as secretary, vice president, and president of Southeastern's chapter. On the national level, he served on the editorial advisory committee for the Phi Kappa Phi Forum magazine and has been a member of the Budget and Fellowship Committees. He was awarded "Distinguished Member" status by the Society in 2004. As Director of Fellowships, he will chair the Fellowship committee, which selects recipients of the Phi Kappa Phi Fellowships, and will serve as a member of the Budget Committee, Programs and Awards Review Committee, and the Vision Statement Work Group. Mr. Blackwood earned his B.A. from Ft. Hays University and M.F.A. from the University of Colorado.
