Oluseun “Sam” Idowu is an interdisciplinary doctoral student in geosciences and mathematics at the University of Missouri Kansas City. Idowu serves as vice president for students on the Society’s national board.

Initiated into Phi Kappa Phi in 2009 at UMKC, Idowu was named to the 2012-2014 Council of Students - an advisory panel for the Society - as a representative of students in the Society’s south central region and co-chair of the council. In this national capacity, he will help lead the Society’s efforts with current and prospective student-members. Idowu also serves as a student vice president for the University of Missouri Kansas City local chapter.

Idowu holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural meteorology and water management from the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta and a master’s degree in meteorology from the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
