Dr. Curtis D. Black is professor emeritus of clinical pharmacy at The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy. Black has more than 50 publications, four monographs and one book chapter highlighting his scholarly endeavors. A hallmark of his career has been his pursuit of new initiatives through collaborative efforts in teaching, research and practice.

Inducted into the Society in 1973, Black has played an active leadership role in Phi Kappa Phi and currently is serving his second consecutive term as the Society's vice president for finance on Phi Kappa Phi’s national board of directors. In addition, he serves as chair of the Investment Committee and as a member of both the Finance and Budget Committee and the Programs and Awards Review Committee. Prior to his national roles, Black served as the University of Toledo’s chapter president and secretary.

Black earned a bachelor’s in pharmacy from The University of Toledo, and a master’s and Ph.D. in clinical pharmacy concurrent with his residency in hospital pharmacy at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich.
