Dr. Anita Welch is assistant professor of education at North Dakota State University. She teaches various upper level and graduate teacher education courses including classroom management, assessment and curriculum design.

Inducted into Phi Kappa Phi in 2004 at Pittsburg State University, Welch currently serves as regional vice president on the Society’s board and north central regional vice president on the Chapter Relations Committee. She previously served on the Society’s Marketing and Member Benefits Committee during the 2010-2012 biennium. In addition, she is president of the NDSU chapter and has held the positions of president-elect and vice president and served as a member of the chapter’s Executive Board.

I would like to work to expand and promote student participation at both the regional and national levels,” said Welch. “Having active membership in the community, along with active student participation, will ensure that the love of learning will rule humanity.”

Welch holds a bachelor’s in English literature from the University of Missouri Kansas City, a master’s in medieval studies from the University of Connecticut, a master’s in science education from Pittsburg State University and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Kansas.
