Angela Lumpkin

Dr. Angela Lumpkin is a professor in the Department of Health, Sport, and Exercise Sciences at the University of Kansas, where she formerly served as Dean of the School of Education. Lumpkin also is the author of 22 books, including multiple editions, a monograph, and an edited book, and more than 50 scholarly publications, plus numerous essays and other published articles.

Inducted into Phi Kappa Phi in 1991 at North Carolina State University, Lumpkin serves as vice president of marketing and member benefits on the Society’s national board. Prior to her election as vice president, she served on the Society’s Budget Advisory and Review Committee. She also served as vice president of the KU chapter of Phi Kappa Phi. Lumpkin is a frequent contributor to Phi Kappa Phi Forum, the multidisciplinary quarterly magazine of the Society.

Lumpkin holds a bachelor's degree in physical education from the University of Arkansas, a master's in sport administration and a Ph.D. in sport history from The Ohio State University, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
